- Australia: Catamaran near Great Barrier
Reef, Cairns 1999, 33k. One of the things that makes Cairns so interesting is its
proximity both to the mountains and rain forest, and the water and the Great Barrier Reef.
Here's a little of each.
- Australia: 43k, 1999. Distant skyline from

- Australia: Skyrail Rainforest It's
hard to depict how thrilling it was to ride a gondola over the top of the rainforest up to
the mountain. 1999, rescanned July 2002.
- Australia: Sydney Harbor, 39k, 1999. Ok.
Prototypical tourist shots. Gotta do it. Here's one with more wide angle

- China: Wuxi 1993.
Rescanned June, 2002. This
shot was taken at 5 a.m. as the mists surrounded the famous lake at Wuxi. Surreal,
atmospheric, one of my all time favorites.

tourists more than vice versa.
- China: Great Wall, 14k, almost impossible to get a
clear shot with all the pushing and shoving. Solution? Focus on one of the imposing
statues. 1993.
- China: Suzhou,
1993, they still do the canal trips
the old fashioned way along this commercial waterway.

ECSTASY in Xian, 1993: A tourist gave this little boy in a rural,
poor area a bag of candy to share with his friends. He looked
inside, smiled and grasped it tightly. I guess for one moment
in his underprivileged life, everything was perfect. Then, he
ran off with it. Took Mom sometime to convince him to share! Rescanned
June, 2002.
